Shari earned her undergraduate degree at Boston University, received a Masters in Education from Hunter College of NY and a Masters of Social Work from Monmouth University. Shari’s field experience includes working as a Social Worker at Riverview Medical Center in the psychiatric department in addition to working for the YMCA as a clinical counselor providing therapy for families and children. Before starting a private practice, Shari was a therapist for Integrated Care Concepts, providing individual therapy for all aged adults and frequently attended workshops and biweekly DBT Consultation groups. In addition, Shari was the founder of a women’s group called ‘The W Forum’ which fostered friendships and learning among women in the area while focusing on many topics relevant to women, parenting and relationships.
Shari provides a caring and supportive environment focusing on the clients’ strengths in a solutions focused modality. Shari promotes the well being of adolescents and adults through healing therapies such as Mindfulness while integrating Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques. Shari guides clients to empower themselves in order to reach their full potential and teaches skills to mindfully maintain a nourishing inner peace. As Ralph Waldo Emerson stated “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
In addition to helping and inspiring others, Shari is a proud wife and mom of two grown daughters. In her personal time, Shari enjoys friends and family, loves animals and nature, participates in modern dance and loves reading books that grow the soul!
